I like the look of the gators
@@chrismariani9690 each to their own I guess
That looks really good. Very nice.
Straight to work..not this or that bullshit like other orators giving speeches about harley heritage or website nonsense.....😂😂😂nice n quick work...
Love these 72,48,883 ones....simple to dis n reassemble .....chain,belt quick.....no operation like on big ones....😂😂 Right side sprocket is best ....
Dealing with this issue now on my 2020 Deluxe. Bike is still under warranty and been in the shop for 6 days. I have read a few people say that Harley’s fix is to loosen the swingarm bolt and re torque. Dumbest thing I ever heard. Hoping that’s not all they are going to do on my bike. There is obviously something causing this issue. The bike was so squeaky to ride with the swingarm completely seized up. Hope it gets fixed the right way and not half assed.
Hope they fix it properly for you mate and not just loosen the swingarm bolt.
@@TheGingybeardMan Thanks Brother! I will repost the fix if they do a proper one.
Well verdict is in on my bike. Dealer called me and tell me the swingarm pivot shaft needs replacing. Apparently they can’t get it back in. 🤦♂️ They tell me the part is on back order with no eta. I chatted with friends and various people on forums and they tell me that they have waited 6 months to a year on no eta parts. What an absolute crock of 💩! I have been emailing various Harley Dealers in the US and seeing if they may possibly have the shaft in stock. Funny thing is that I can get an aftermarket one made by Bare Knuckle Performance online…I would have to pay for it and of course I would have to pay the dealer to install it because my warranty is not going to cover the work. It blows my mind that Harley doesn’t have a warehouse with available parts ready to order. I made the call to corporate and they are looking into the part…which we both know is not going to go anywhere. I love Harley but I think this might be my last one.
@@VincentVagabond far out mate that sucks. I'd be going with the aftermarket one, no way would I be waiting 6 months unless they want to provide you with a replacement ride.
@@TheGingybeardMan Aftermarket is where I am headed but it’s just the principle of it all you know. Why should I have to pay all that money. The part and labour for a bike under warranty. It just ain’t right. Good to chat and vent about it all the same. 👊🤙
They make these for metric bikes at all ??
I don't think so mate, prism supply sells harley stuff
@@TheGingybeardMan Hmmmm........bugger. Looks cool. Thanks anyway. 👍
Nice!
Hacksaw and file by hand is the way to do the chrome ones.
Love my breakout. Cruising around town, it's awesome. Get a lot of thumbs up/ looks etc. On the highway, and long trip. O so much.
Nice work mate! Life hack: I use a piece of folded aluminum foil under the oil filter covering the primary so any and all oil that comes out of the filter or engine goes directly into the drain pan.
Did you need a new LED flasher unit?
The indicators flashed at a normal speed but the indicator light on the speedo had a hyper flash. To fix this I bought some custom dynamics posi tap resistors and wired them to the indicator wires. These modern sportsters run a canbus system and not a replaceable LED flasher relay.
Help half way through putting forwards on but I'm stuck on my UK 22 street bob, what size is the Allen keys for the two bolts on the gear shift rods and the tool and size you used to get the gear rod at the back of the casing, can't ride till it's done none of my tools fit
Mate I did this video 4 years ago. I can't for the life if me remember what size allen keys I used.
Lol no worries worth a try 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Huge improvement in terms of looks
The chrome plug do you know what size it is and what it called if i want to get one
My custom big twin was built with these big beach bars that I hated so I tried every bar and riser combo I had in the shop. Nothing worked, I couldn't get comfortable. Finally out of desperation I tried the wide rabbit ears I bought for a Sportster project I am planning. I never thought they would work but they are perfect. The bike finally fits me. They look a bit out of place on such a big bike but screw it I'm comfortable. The parking lot handling has suffered but at road speed they ride great. The big bike feels light and maneuverable now. Hopefully I will get used to the parking lot handling over time, it's already getting better. Only down side is that I will have to buy another set for the Sporty.
Nice like the new seat thanks for the info was thinking about one for myF FXBR not sure if the push will be to much with forwards tho any thanks man and have a good one
Totally get it dude, I almost enjoy wrench time as much as riding to be honest, in reality it’s a form of art, who cares what anybody else thinks ole boy, it’s what you love and each bike in my opinion is a form of one’s self expression, some people do puzzles and that’s great we enjoy building and working on Harley’s, to each their own right, great video bud I enjoyed it as well as all your videos 🍻 What’s next 🤔
Thanks for following the videos mate. At the moment I'm just about half way through a harley shovelhead project. I've done a few videos of it on the channel. Hoping to have it on the road in the next month or so.
Deffinitly not a useless addition. Pre 2007 sportster and Buell oil pumps are prone to gradual failure. The oil gauge will tell you when the pump starts to fail long before the idiot light comes on. Could stop you from being stranded or worse, damaging your bike. Great video Bro!
Definitely on my “ to do list” list. Don’t care for the mid controls. Good video 🤘🏻. Just bought my 2023 street bob 114.
Why does nobody ever put big twin evos in these videos? Ist always sportsters.
Because I actually owned these bikes
@@TheGingybeardMan i didnt know ! Just stumbled on these Videos. Love it dude but the old big twin evos Idle a lot different than the sporties.
@@KD-nb3mpdnt get me wrong I would have preferred the big twin evo to be in the vid. I'm working on a shovelhead project atm which is probably my favourite sounding harley engine.
@@TheGingybeardMan Dude! Thats awesome! Dont get me wrong, i love all bikes but harleys are harleys. A Shovelhead is the coolest project ever! A shovelhead is the most beautiful sound a motorcycle has ever made. Congrats!
Does it fits street bob dyna too they both look the same though
I don't believe so mate, the frame on the softails and dynas are completely different.
Will this fit street bob dyna 2014
90-100 ft lbs is way too much for the procket locking plate are u sure the manual said that ?
Yes mate it's definitely correct as per the manual.
Makes the bike look more meaty nice
Do you have a vid of what you did to clean up the wiring under your bike?
No sir but if you search blockhead sportster wire tuck on UA-cam it should come up.
So I’m gonna go ahead and order some today I have a 2015 street bob FXDB. Well, any size work or do I need to specify when I make the order because bicycle spokes seem to be much smaller than a Harley they are very thick.
These wraps are motorcycle specific bicycle spoke wraps won't work.
These wraps are motorcycle specific bicycle spoke wraps won't work.
@@TheGingybeardMan yeah exactly so how do i know if they are the right one. The photos show dirtbikes and Harley wheels so who knows
@@brodyrichard263 the website I bought them off was called thirdgear. The spoke diameter they stated they would fit were up to 4mm. Thirdgear no longer sells the black spoke wraps I bought. You will need to read the ad description or ask the supplier what size diameter spokes they will fit.
@@TheGingybeardMan this one said up to 5 mm. And I’m not positive what size my bike has honestly
Did you find the foot peg mounts won’t accept aftermarket floor boards?
Sorry mate I'm unsure I never tried aftermarket floor boards
I have 2014 street bob dyna will this tank fit it i need a big tank
I don't believe so
In addition to the panel cable, did you need to change any other cables?
No sir they were just long enough but pretty tight.
How good are third gear! I just brought a tail light for a sissy bar I built for my low rider s
They're awesome hey. I've bought loads of stuff from them
did you use the same original fuel pump from the Street bob on the new tank?
We’re is the iron head bro ?
Sold it and my sportster 72 to fund this project mate.
@@TheGingybeardMan what a upgrade bro !
The bike looks spicy 🌶️
Thanks man, it's finally getting there.
im always late on the drop but at least im here.
Now time to change out that rear wheel well and that bike is "Bad Ass"
My Saddlemen seats have all come with a rubber disc / washer that helps protect your fender, did you not get one with yours?
Yeah unfortunately I didn't get one.
We're in the same boat - awesome bike, loved your vids
Thanks for following the channel mate.
do you still have your street bob? it was an awesome looking bike
No sir I did a video on the channel on selling it. Thanks mate I did love that bike. But I'm more into chopper style harleys now
WAY WAY better looking and more mileage per tank.👍
It looks 10 times better with the bigger tank. I don't understand why Harley didn't put a 5-gallon tank on this bike from Factory when it did in the past
Bro dont feel bad. I do the same thing ALL THE TIME. I customize a bike, sell it, rinse and repeat. It's sooo much fun, but so expensive! MT-10 is a GREAT choice!
I use mink oil on my seats. Works great. Love the bike, man! Good job having your wife do the fine work! I do the same thing! Haha. She is a ginger, also! Them ginger women have dependable hands!
Thanks mate, yeah the wife's got alot more patience than I do for the intricate stuff. Yep We're a family of firey gingers haha
Do you know if a memphis shades fairing will still clear with the larger tank?
Yes mate, they make them model specific on the Memphis shades website.
It is all coming together fella. Great team work 😉
Thanks mate, It's finally taking shape. I'm funding the build and the father in law is building it hahaha.
Love these builds! Wish i had a bad ass father in law like that! lol fucken awesome
Thanks mate, I'd be lost without his fabrication skills thats for sure.
Making good progress
Slowly getting there mate, hopefully it'll be finished in the next month or so.
Ooh wee that shovel head be sexy!
Cool az 👍👊
Cheers Mick
Great job. love it all. And... jb weld on the throttle cable wire - filed away for later top tip.👍
Thanks mate, appreciate it.
Loving this build can’t wait to see the colour
Thanks mate, it's the biggest project I've torn into to date.
